A renowned Portland restaurateur Reo Varnado has reportedly died on Friday, January 14, 2022. Reo Varnado’s brother Ricky Varnado his passing. Sharing a post on Facebook, Ricky wrote that Reo passed away on Friday around 10:30 PM. He added that his heart was hurting badly to announce the disheartening piece of news. Ricky asked the public to keep his family in their thoughts and prayers and said that he needs prayers and comfort to make it through the difficult time of his life. Reo Varnado’s brother further wrote that he would be dearly missed.
Talking about Reo Varnado, he owned a barbecue restaurant, Reo’s Rib,s based in Portland. Reo used to accompany Snoop Dogg both onstage and on the television. He was a great chef who mainly cooked southern-style barbecue. Apart from cooking, Reo Varnado was also a great performer and singer as he has given various performances with The Beyonds, his gospel group. Later, Reo also appeared in Snoop Dogg’s produced and released a song titled “Just Get Carried Away.” It was released back in 2002 which also featured Doggy Style All-Stars. In addition, the rapper has shared several posts about his uncle on Instagram.
Snoop Dogg also had shared a video that featured Varnado’s barbecue restaurant. It was also featured on MTV’s series of Snoop titled “Dogg After Dark.” Speaking of Varnado’s restaurant, it was started in 1999 and is located along the Tualatin Valley Highway outside Portland. His Mississippi-style barbecue managed to earn a mention by Gourmet magazine. In addition, Reo’s restaurant managed to make recognition worldwide. It is no doubt that Snoop Dogg mentioning his restaurant helped it gain nationwide attention. Now, his sudden passing has become the cause of his loved ones suffering.
